I am frequently asked, “Why do I choose to use Enscape?” As an experienced Enscape user, why do I favor it over other available options?
Just the other day, someone in the comments section of my Enscape Animation video posed this question, and it got me thinking about writing a brief post on the topic. I believe it would be beneficial for others who share the same interest and want to understand why Enscape is the superior choice for Revit users.
The opinions mentioned below are solely based on my personal experience with Enscape for Revit. Please note that the experiences of other Enscape or CAD users may vary.
The following are three key reasons why Enscape is the best rendering plug-in for Revit:
1: Seamless Integration with Revit: As a Revit user, it is crucial for me to have a rendering solution that seamlessly integrates with the software I already use on a daily basis. One of the standout features of Enscape is its ability to sync with Revit models instantly. This means that as I make changes to my model in Revit, I can instantly see the results without having to wait for lengthy rendering processes or click on “export/update model” after making changes every time. This saves me a lot of time and allows for quick iterations and adjustments. It’s super convenient!
2: User-Friendly Interface: Enscape has a user-friendly interface that is intuitive and easy to navigate. Even for someone new to rendering or visualization software, it doesn’t take long to get up and running with Enscape. The simplicity of the interface allows me to focus more on the design process rather than getting lost in complex settings.
3: Quick Exporting, 4K Rendering, and Animations: After trying out other available rendering engines, I realized that Enscape3D is by far the fastest and easiest way to produce stunning 4K renderings and videos, especially for Revit users. With just a few clicks, you can transform your Revit models into stunning visualizations, saving you valuable time and effort.
One of the major advantages of using Enscape as a Revit user is that you won’t have to duplicate your efforts like you would with most other rendering engines.
Let’s say you’re working on detailed drawings for walls, ceilings, and other decorative elements in Revit. Simultaneously, you’re creating a 3D model with those same details for rendering purposes.
With Enscape, all you have to do is run the program, and your 3D model is ready to be rendered. You might need to make a few minor adjustments in the Enscape visual settings, but that’s about it.

This means that you can have your detailed plans and renderings ready at the same time without having to go through the hassle of using additional lighting resources provided by other rendering engines. In those cases, you’d have to add lighting all over again after already doing so in Revit. Enscape saves you from that unnecessary repetition.
The only drawback we’ve found with Enscape is that it lacks animated characters or vehicles. Maybe we will see animated assets soon with upcoming versions of Enscape. Till then, I’m considering learning another rendering engine (which I haven’t decided yet) specifically for my videos, where I need those animated elements. However, for my day-to-day use as a Revit user, Enscape remains my top choice among.
